Gateway Laboratories Pty Ltd is the leading provider of NATA (National Association of Testing Authorities) accredited laboratory and testing services for the Queensland and Australian sugar industries.

Gateway Laboratories offers a broad spectrum of nationally and internationally accredited testing and analytical services for sugar, molasses and intermediate by-products, as well as agricultural commodities such as grain, nuts and oils.

Established in early 2010, Gateway Laboratories acquired Amdel’s Brisbane-based laboratory in February that year and entered an agreement with Queensland Sugar Limited (QSL) which involves the chemical analysis of raw sugar. QSL is the marketing and logistics company engaged by the majority of raw sugar producers in Queensland to sell bulk raw sugar for export.

Each year Gateway tests approximately 2,000+ raw sugar samples from 22 Queensland-based sugar mills. It also tests raw and refined sugar and molasses samples from other domestic and international sugar companies including Wilmar Sugar Australia Limited, Sugar Australia, Mackay Sugar, Bundaberg Sugar, and New South Wales Sugar.

We offer extended week day and weekend hours and a range of value-added services including evaluation and benchmarking and provision of equipment and chemicals. Our processes are customer-focused, modelled after best practices, and continually being improved.

Gateway holds the unique and enviable position as the only sugar-analysis laboratory of its type in Australia. Its commitment to quality and its analysis methods and results are internationally recognised.
